News in Bites...

Lots to catch up on!  Here are the happenings of our last month...
Dec. 17: Sarah (Rachel's sister) moved in with us for her Christmas break
Dec. 20: Rachel submitted her final paper for her 4th nonprofit class - one step closer to being done!
Dec. 21: We enjoyed an evening with fellow members of the Global Outreach Team from our church discussing policy
Dec. 22: Sarah's friend Shannon came over for dinner and helped us bake "Creme de Menthe" bars - so yummy!
Dec. 23: Our dear friends, Will and Stephanie, invited us over for dinner - delicious lasagna!
Dec. 24: We got to host Kirsten, Jaron, and Janelle for Christmas Eve Dinner.  What a feast we had - enjoyed the leftovers for many days.
Dec. 25: In the morning, we joined our church family for Christmas Brunch and Worship.
Dec. 26: A day off of work!
Dec. 28: More family arrived for a visit - Carl & Meg, Gretchen & 2 of her Japanese exchange students - and we enjoyed every minute of our time together.
Dec. 29: Carl and Meg got engaged!
Jan. 4: We woke up early to head to the hospital for our "halfway point" ultrasound.  That's right!  We're expecting a baby to join our family in May!
Jan. 12: This was the deadline to clear all our stuff out of our landlords furniture so they could move it out and off to TN.
Jan. 19 - 22: We took a trip to Orlando, FL to soak up some sun, see Deb and Bekah, have lunch with Rachel's grandparents, and take a much-needed break from work.
Jan. 25: Rachel was whisked away by her friend Nikki for a surprise evening, which included attending the ballet Swan Lake!
Jan. 27: We tried out a new restaurant - Chez Violette - with friends from church, James & Janice, and had our first taste of Haitian cuisine.
Jan. 28: Rachel enjoyed some yummy crepes with Stephanie, Sarah, and Sunny for a ladies brunch on Irving Park Rd.
Feb. 4: Ryan will be flying to Congo for 2 1/2 weeks to work with the PCP Farmers to Market program out there.
